Discover the museum
Starting point to know about the history of Ascoli territory, the museum tells a 130,000-year-old story: from the Palaeolithic to the Roman period.Â
It is organised on three sections: Prehistoric section (in preparation), Picene section, and the Roman section. Â
They occupy the three floors of the Renaissance Palazzo Panichi, which was built at the beginning of the 16th century, incorporating older buildings. The Palace occupies part of the northern side of the central Piazza Arringo and it maintains a constant dialogue with the main buildings of the city: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and the Palazzo dell’Arengo.Â
